Washington July 14 President McKinley has signed the reciprocity treaty with today yielding immediate tariff changes. The proclamation states the pact uses the Dingley act third section and requires no Senate approval.
San Jose reports Costa Rica will implement the gold standard tomorrow. Juan Buiras oversees operations after $4,000,000 in United States minted gold coins arrived in five ten and twenty colon denominations.
