Across Kansas and Texas reports say the Santa Fe telegraphers strike is over. In Wichita and Arkansas City operators return while new hires are rejected or driven away by mobs. Dismissed orderly rehires and continued shortages hinder some lines and dining arrangements.
Special dispatch reports in Caldwell county Reedville arrests of three armed men using burglars tools and dynamite. They fought, one was shot twice and swam the river before capture. Authorities suspect counterfeit money was involved.

Bloodhounds and a county posse pursued the thieves who warned they would defend the treasure with their lives.
Sergeant John Kipper the colored soldier convicted of murdering Police Officer Newton Stewart faces the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Tyler. The jury in the county sentenced him to life. Defense attorney M W Stanton seeks a new trial.
