State Eyes Eminent Domain Over Edmonds Ferry Terminal
The Port of Edmonds and the Washington State Transportation Commission clash over a new lease for the Edmonds ferry terminal. The state considers eminent domain as an option if a fair rent cannot be agreed, potentially moving through court to determine ownership and compensation. The port contends it owns the docks and terminal, while land under the facility is leased from DNR and other parties.
