Mountlake Terrace swimmers win National Masters title
The Kaleidoscopes of Mountlake Terrace captured the National Masters synchronized swimming championship for ages 30 to 39 in Santa Clara California. Dr Sherry Weinberg won the 40 to 44 event while Joyce Pietras placed fourth in 30 to 34 and Donna Wallen fourth in 55 to 59.

Edmonds wins AA Western Conference cross country meet
Edmonds High School swept both boys and girls races at the AA Western Conference meet in Everett on Friday Oct 27. In the boys race Edmonds edged Shorecrest 27-79 as Tim Porter finished third in 15 46 with Greg Lamb 15 48 and Kirby White 15 42. Shoreline’s Dave Bachler won in 15 43 with Lynnwood’s Eric Hrushka 15 45. In the girls race Edmonds’ Staci Larsen led with 18 05 as Shorewood placed second 27-51 behind Amy Williams 18 36 and Cindy Seaberg 19 17 and Koshtra Rossiter 19 18. Northwest District meet at Mount Vernon saw Edmonds claim AA title with Hrushka 15 30 and Shorewood’s Karen McMurray 18 03.

Northwest Americans Rally To 6-6 In West Coast Junior Hockey
The Northwest American hockey team went 2-1 this week in West Coast Junior Hockey League action. Luc Boileau and Edmunds Scott Berg each had a hat trick, boosting Boileau to 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points, as Ladner Rebels, Bellingham Blazers, and Chilliwack Jets were defeated. The team hosts Chilliwack on Sunday Nov 13 at Sno-King at 6:30 p.m.
