Edmonds council member Katie Allen may resign
Edmonds council member Katie Allen says she is prepared to resign from the city council now that the water sewer rate study nears completion. Elected to the state Legislature last fall she has missed multiple meetings since January due to House sessions in Olympia. Allen says she will stay if the council or electorate prefer, with fall elections possible for her replacement and the council aims to avoid political hassle. The council has not formally discussed her resignation but will likely revisit the issue. She hopes the Legislature adjourns by mid May and then she can devote full time to the council.
