Snohomish County Board approves 93 acre annexation to Edmonds
The Snohomish County Boundary Review Board approved annexation of 93 acres in the Esperance area into Edmonds. The unincorporated land includes Woodway High School and a McDonalds on Edmonds Way. Over 75 percent of area property owners petitioned in December with Edmonds School District backing the measure amid concerns over sheriff response times and vandalism at Woodway High School. Esperance residents largely oppose piecemeal annexation despite earlier 1981 vote against it.

Lynnwood Opposes Metro Bus Base at Park and Ride Site
City officials say they oppose Metro Transit's plan to place a north end bus base on a 20 acre Lynnwood site beside the park and ride lot near I 5. They cite traffic impact, soil and drainage issues, right of way for transmission lines, and cost concerns estimating development costs up to 10 million dollars more than other sites. Metro may discuss alternatives, but Lynnwood zoning and environmental standards would govern any development and a council approval would be needed.
