Organ Donation Week Links Law to State Drive for Donors
James Bush reports that Organ Donation Awareness Week starts next Monday in Washington. The new law by Governor Booth Gardner requires hospitals to identify potential donors and ask families for consent after a death. Donor indicators on licenses rose to 188,000 inquiries last year, with 816 donors in Washington in 1985, up from about 700 the year before.
