Purcell High announces a football clinic for seventh and eighth grade boys in the district. At 1 p.m. Saturday Nov. 23 the event will take place in the school gym with head coach and staff assisted by varsity players demonstrating basic fundamentals.
The Mariemont Council reviewed street lighting including three old style pole lights at Fieldhouse Way and Pleasant St. No changes recommended. potential parking light at the parking area. The safety committee recommends a utility vehicle for the fire department and bids from two suppliers. Safety and parking regulations near Grace Ave were discussed pending hospital construction.

Hyde Park Mt Lookout area seniors are invited to a Sunday 3 p.m. meeting at the First National Bank community room to discuss future programs for the new Hyde Park Multi Service Center for Older Adults. Jane Carothers, center executive director, and Mary Wood will attend to hear service ideas.
Julian C. Bailey of Marie mont presents a slide lecture on ancient Maya and Inca civilizations. He retraces travels across South and Central America including Tikal in Guatemala and Machu Picchu in Peru.
Cincinnati City Council schedules a 2 p.m. Nov 27 public hearing on an ordinance to modify the R-5 zone around 2715 2719 Observatory Ave by adding a portion to the R-5 (T) district. Planning commission disapproved. Oakley Chamber of Commerce will meet 7:30 p.m. Nov 20 at Bonanza Hyde Park Plaza.
The project moves into a permanent home with a senior council to plan services and name the center. Sponsored by a Title I grant under the Older Americans Act via the Ohio Commission on Aging and the Cincinnati area Council on Aging, with community and church groups organizing earlier this year.
Mariemont’s football team, led by Coach Larry Lyons, was eliminated in Dayton as Louisville Aquinas defeated them 19 7. Mariemont gained 252 yards but fumbled three times and had penalties total 75 yards. Jordan and Jim produced key runs but two big plays were negated by penalties.
