Mariemont May Face Annexation Plans and Growth Costs

Mariemont officials consider annexing a 21 647 acre tract southeast of the village to accommodate a Modern Real Estate deluxe condominium project. The 194 five to six story units would cost about 25 million and house around 500 people over 8 10 years. Annexation could push population past 5000, risking village status and higher fire service costs. Fire ratings would rise needing six additional full time personnel and equipment upgrades estimated at 150 200 thousand.
