Meeting Tonight On Post Office Hyde Park Area
Hyde Park Residents Association sponsors an 8 p.m. meeting at Knox Presbyterian Church Observatory Michigan to discuss the post office situation. Invitations go to city councilmen postal officials and state politicians as well. HPRA president Rick Naberhaus says the session aims to inform residents about the issue from start to finish and compare it to the Kroger store closure discussion. A Labor Day decision by Postmaster General E. T. Klassen will determine where the new consolidated facility for Hyde Park Oakley and the East End will be placed with little chance for small stations if Oakley sites are chosen. The meeting seeks to persuade U S tax service officials Hyde Park needs a post office.

Mariemont School District voters will decide on a 6.75 mill levy increase in November. The board approved a budget boosting revenue while lowering the bond tax rate from 6.0 to 5.0 mills, creating a net rise of about 4.95 mills for 1972–77.
