Mariemont Adopts 550000 Budget At Jan 3 Meeting
Mariemont Council approved an annual appropriation ordinance of 550100 for 1977 current and other expenditures. General fund details include 275000 for public safety and property, 4300 public health, 124000 leisure and parks maintenance, 43200 community environment, 20500 transportation, 78800 general administration. Carryovers totaling 617620.95 from 1976 appear in several special accounts. Councilman Davies questioned an 8000 fee to the county board of health and a 54 tire bill. Mayor Straley and Clerk Bahler outlined related matters including a Mercy Hospital case and anti-recession aid for refuse collection. A public works report was deferred to March 14, and utilities topics included Cincinnati Bell rate inquiries and CG&E gas adjustments. A public hearing on a Murray and Settle zoning appeal for a 48-unit multiple residence in Columbia Township was announced.

He notes 16 old houses moved for an office retail complex are slated for work despite opposition and weather delays.
