Prayerful aid from Christian Scientists at Hyde Park Reading Room

Governor James Rhodes appealed for prayer and Christian Scientists opened their Reading Room on Edwards Rd Hyde Park Square inviting the public to pray about the weather. The room, open Sunday hours with a large sign, also operates Monday through Saturday 9 to 5:30 for study and prayer.

Flower show dates set by Cincinnati garden clubs

The 36th annual flower show, sponsored by the Federated Garden Clubs of Cincinnati and Vicinity, runs Feb 26–27 at the Cincinnati Convention Center in conjunction with the Home and Garden Show. Mariemont Board Elects Jo Lakeman President

Jo Lakeman, in her eighth year on the Mariemont Board of Education, is elected president succeeding Paul R. Swanson. Pau Hodges is named vice president. Lakeman has served as president before in 1971 and was appointed to the board in 1969.

Give Your Hearts to the Arts Rally Planned for Feb 14

Hyde Park residents Mrs. Ethan B. Stanley and Mrs. Dorothy J. Corbett coordinate a rally to urge greater public funding for the arts in Ohio. The event on Monday Feb 14 at WEET studios begins with a 5 p.m. cash bar, includes live music, dance, a film showing Art Is a panel discussion and a report from the Ohio Citizens Committee for the Arts. Hamilton County legislators are expected to attend. The committee aims to increase Ohio Arts Council subsidy in the state budget under winter reviews.
