Oakley Chamber Plans 125th Anniversary Celebration

The Oakley Chamber of Commerce gathered to finalize plans for the community 125th anniversary observance set for Friday and Saturday September 23 and 24. A display will appear on Oakley Square with musical performances. Chamber president Ron Jackson said churches and schools were invited to participate and that the Oakley Senior Citizens Center will take part.

Village disputes state figures over car registrations in Fairfax

Village clerk Ziegler tells council that an arithmetic error may have overpaid Fairfax in 1975 license tax fees based on 1086 cars in 1970 and 1092 in 1975. State accounts show 1086 and 1092 registrations. she suggests some residents may have Cincinnati addresses. If verified, Fairfax may receive credit and funds due will be deducted to cover the overpayment.

Fairfax Council Welcomes Back Charles Schuler

Charles Schuler was welcomed back to Fairfax Council last Wednesday after months away due to illness. He resumed his usual motion to adjourn the meeting as colleagues granted permission. Route 50 officials plan a public meeting on Thursday September 15 to discuss rerouting US Route 50.

48ers Plan New Year Community Awareness Drive

Madisonville zone changes face public hearing September 13

A public hearing at 8 p.m. September 13 at St. Anthony School will address 17 proposed ordinances to rezone Madisonville areas. The measures, tied to the Madisonville Community Plan of 1975, aim to modify O-1 and B-4 zones toward appropriate density and use, with plans for maps and explanations in coming weeks.

Giglio to lead Mt Lookout Civic Club for 77 78

Robert A. Giglio was elected president of the Mt Lookout Civic Club for 1977 78. Other officers include Tom Dean as chairman of the board Doug Edwards first vice president Sekar pred treasurer Phil Marsick assistant secretary treasurer Ken Frey membership chairman and Mike Brady retiring board chairman head of the luminaria committee. The club aims to match the 324 memberships set 19 years ago. The School Foundation of Greater Cincinnati named Nora May Nolan of Hyde Park and Mrs James O Neil of Mariemont to its board of trustees.

Naugle Named Candidate to Replace Mariemont Councillor

Robert Naugle of 6612 Elm Street was chosen Aug. 16 as a candidate to fill the District Five seat after Councilman Jerry Shelton resigned following his move from Mariemont.
