Spring Enchantment Flower Show Draws Visitors to Eagle Lake
Visitors from Eagle Lake and nearby towns enjoyed the Eagle Lake Garden Club's Spring Enchantment show in Rotary Hall. J V Duncan won the gold ribbon for the top exhibit with white gladioli. J G Jenkins took the sweepstake with 62 points. Multiple ribbons were awarded across categories including miniatures, mass arrangements, foliage, and floral ensembles. Judges were from Houston and Rosenberg.

Rainfall Report From Englehard Near Eagle Lake
Fritz Englehard told Headlight that rain measured near Englehard, in Eagle Lake area, fell 1.58 inches during Monday night to Tuesday noon, with 0.87 inch Tuesday night and a total of 3.25 inches by Wednesday. Worshippers of the Juggernaut are said to thrust themselves beneath its enormous cart to be crushed. The Tombs remains New York City's famed jail.
