Rev W C Barrett accused a city policeman of drinking at Parrish stables based on information from Reuben Skipp. Chief Freeland had officers line up. Barrett could not identify anyone. Shipp later said he couldn t recognize any force member and may have seen a street car man in blue. Barrett will state facts in pulp it. McClure s avexine ad seeks representations.
A major blaze at the Observer Building on the third floor destroyed the matrix and fourth stories, killing George Wilson a 15 year old deaf and dumb boy who had been entering the room nightly to sleep. Firefighters stopped the flames by 3 o clock and the loss is estimated at 15000 dollars. Wilson body found near a window after a final search.
Durham Hosiery Mills defeated Haw River last Saturday with easy control as the visitors showed little chance of turning the game in their favor.
