Duram Officials Hear Testimony on Illicit Liquor Sales
On Friday August 14 Mayor Graham summoned A E Lloyd J C Michie W J Griswold and W B Guthrie to testify about illegal liquor sales in Duram. The matter was delayed to Monday before Judge Jones then set for Thursday night and heard in the mayor's office. Attorneys for Winston and Bryant objected and the proceeding ended with no knowledge gained.

Death of 18 month old child in West Durham
The 18 month old child of Mr 1 and Mrs J W Markham of West Durham died at the parents home on Tuesday from a named illness. The funeral and burial occurred on Wednesday afternoon with interment in the Proctor burying ground.
