Man Refused to Acknowledge Warrant Then Surrendered
Carried back to Whitakers, Will Cozart, a Black man who had lived in Durham and escaped from the chain gang while paying a fine, was arrested here Tuesday on advice from Whitakers authorities. He is wanted for robbery theft of about 80 to 90 dollars from a man named Askew. Whitakers officials were notified and he was returned to Whitakers the same afternoon. Initial denial gave way to admission as the right man.

Jones Skips Bond In Abandonment Case In Durham
