A jumble of local items covers a wolf hunt in Wisconsin, a coroner's inquest, a boastful Paris fashion note, a theater anecdote in Boston, a strongwoman anecdote, racial color questions, liquor license debates, and a North Carolina political reply. It mixes stray animals, social commentary, and editorials with names like Madame Victorin and Judge Fowle.
After four days of debate the General Conference of the Methodist Church voted down women delegates by 39 margin. The roll call showed 150 ayes to 122 and 78 to 76 in the lay and clergy ballots. In other items five additions were reported at First Baptist Church and confirmations at St Pauls Epverpil. Grace Methodist added six new members.
The firm of Lea and Duke is dissolved this day by mutual consent. Books are at Globe Warehouse under C. M. Edwards. All indebted parties should settle accounts, and creditors are asked to present their claims immediately. The firm thanks farmers and the trade for their patronage.
