Railroads Surrender to Governor in North Carolina Rate Accord
The Southern and Atlantic Coast Line accept a 21 4 cent state rate to take effect by August 8 1907 and align to a legal contest plan. The agreement ends indictments and assigns appeals to higher courts while promising no further prosecutions until the new rate is in place.

Death of Miss Lola Rogers in Watts Hospital
Miss Lola Rogers daughter of W. H. Rogers died of typhoid fever just before 1 a m at Watts hospital after a days long decline. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist church and involved in church work. She leaves her father a brother Winston Rogers of Oxford and sister Mrs Waller Holladay of this city.

Walter Hobbs faces witness intimidation charge in court
Walter Hobbs was arrested and tried Monday on a witness intimidation charge. He allegedly tried to induce a witness in whiskey cases to leave town to avoid testifying. The mayor bound Hobbs over to the circuit court in a $1,000 bond. Durham Photo and Supply Co. will become Piedmont Supply Co., with improvements to the Holiday Studio and former house of business. Rev. G P Bostic, former pastor of First Baptist, returned from missionary work to preach to his former congregation last Sunday.
