Death of W R Dollar Painter Dies at 50
William R Dollar died at his home on Parker Street last Wednesday evening after a lingering illness. He was 50, survived by a wife and one child. A painter by trade, his funeral was held from the home Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G T Adams of Trinity Church, with interment in Maplewood cemetery.

Has Leg Amputated At Watts Hospital Gate

Detective Strickland's Shooting Report Leads to Arrest
In East Durham Tuesday night D. T. Strickland reported a badly wanted man fired on him and fled. Strickland later claimed the shooter was Emerson, wanted in South Carolina for murder. Officers learned Emerson had surrendered Monday and arrested Strickland, who admitted past detective work and lacking credentials. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and bound over to court in $25 bond.

Death on the baseball field at Schley school
