Father and Sons Fight for Custody in Habeas Corpus
Judge C H Allen will hear a habeas corpus case at the Carolina hotel tomorrow night over possession of two or three young daughters in a Durham family dispute. D N Wilkerson of East Durham seeks to regain custody from two or three of his sons who had taken the girls in Orange County. The court had previously ordered custody to the brothers pending education until adulthood. The father later changed his mind and sought the return of the daughters, leading to the upcoming hearing Friday night February 5 to determine who is entitled to the girls. The case may reach higher courts.
