Death of Miss Pauline Speed at 20
Miss Pauline Speed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Speed, died at their home 208 Gattis Street Wednesday at 12 05 AM from typhoid fever. She had just turned twenty and was ill a little over a month. Funeral services and burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery after services at the Mangum Street Methodist church.

Mrs M M Ramsey of Liberty street died suddenly Tuesday morning between 2 30 and 3 after a brief illness believed to be acute indigestion. She had a hearty supper and visited neighbors before falling ill. physicians could not revive her.
Federal court session in Raleigh hears Durham cases
In Raleigh this week the federal court heard Durham cases including Sol Webb jailed for whiskey selling, Eugene Dorsett and Newton Dorsett facing jail and fines, and Dan Marsh known as Long Boy convicted for impersonating a federal officer. The East Durham wedding guests and a local law and order league attended the event.

John C Strayhorn Dies After Short Illness in Durham
John C. Strayhorn died at his Yancey Street home Wednesday night after a brief illness. He was 56, born in Orange County, lived seven years in Durham, and married Gertrude Billings ten years ago. Funeral at Second Baptist Church followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery. survived by his wife and two daughters Margaret Ruth and Susie May.
