Durham Guard Marches to Camp Glenn For 50 Men
The Durham Company M of the Third North Carolina Regiment left Tuesday for Camp Glenn Morehead City. Forty seven men departed with full equipment and some tried to avoid service. They will join a few more later, and the unit will be about fifty strong. Capt S C Chambers led the detachment. The government funds and provisions cover encampment, with pay at regular rates. A circus aspirant in Morris Street, George Shepherd, plans to join John Robinson's show on the 20th, while Mt Moriah church in Orange County begins a revival led by Rev J F McDuffie and Rev Tryducto.
