Divorce Granted in Stephens versus Stephens District Court

Property was divided with the defendant receiving the Duncan home and a cash settlement, and the plaintiff keeping the ranch across the river. Three younger children go with the mother. Levi and Mary go with the father. Both parents may visit the children at reasonable hours. the court retains jurisdiction and neither parent may remove the children from the court’s jurisdiction.

Statehood Hearing Completes Arizona Proceedings

In Washington on April 29 the House committee on territories completed its hearing on statehood for Arizona. A five member sub-committee was appointed to review evidence and report. It is expected Arizona may vote on judiciary recall when state officers are elected, as New Mexico leaders seek to tie its admission to easier constitutional amendments.
