Leland Stanford Whipple of Clifton, age 18, son of Mr and Mrs William Whipple, was killed Sunday morning after contacting a live electric wire. He was a popular youth and his funeral was held Monday with many mourners paying tribute to a worthy young man.

Taft Invitation Reaches Jail In San Francisco Case
Thomas P. Wickes serving six months in Alameda County Jail for passing a fraudulent check received an invitation from President Taft and Mrs Taft to attend the Taft silver wedding. Wickes, a Yale 1878 graduate, paused before returning to his cell and offered no further comment. He had been a once prosperous San Francisco lawyer.

Frank Morris Dead Longtime Prospector Remembered
Frank Morris, a veteran prospector and miner who lived in the area for over twenty years, died last Sunday at Shannon Hospital in Clifton after a period of illness. He came from Texas and left behind relatives there. Morris owned two mineral claims and was known for reading and staying informed while working in his remote camps. His friends and acquaintances mourn his passing with wishes of peace for his ashes.

Signing Bonds Sets Record in Greenlee County History
Chairman Cosper of the Board of Supervisors has completed signing 148 bonds with coupons from 20 to 38 dollars. He signed his name about 4392 times, stating it surpassed all prior totals in his life. The bonds of 147 dollars each transferred Greenlee county indebtedness to Graham county under a legislative act creating Greenlee county.

The Department of Agriculture reports Arizona farm growth with 1910 land and building values at 47 034 000. Average per acre rose from 5 90 in 1900 to 33 91 in 1910. Average farm size fell to 154 acres from 333 acres. Farm land value up 475 percent and land plus buildings up 486 percent. Farms numbered 8078 in 1910, up 2269 from 1900.
