Fatal Ore Train Wreck Near Metcalf on Shannon Arizona
About 7 o clock Sunday morning an ore train wreck occurred on the Shannon Arizona line one and one half miles below Metcalf. Seven ore cars toppled 65 feet after a dry wall failure, the engine passed the break, and cars crashed onto A C Coronado tracks stopping traffic. The middle brakeman was crushed. it took until 1 20 to clear rock and recover the body. Damage to train and track estimated at 2500 dollars.
