The Model Canal Company plans four metal flumes under the large washes to stop frequent washout repairs. The improvements will cut repair costs and water losses to crops, saving farmers money after each heavy rain.

Prof Dykes discovered them and shortly after 3 30 pm the pranksters revealed themselves at his home saying were the hockey crowd. The professor released them and the day closed with good spirits and a bid to seek a legal holiday for the event.
Chicago reports a coal wage scale expiration leaves about 400000 Illinois miners idle and 700000 nationwide affected by the strike. Operators warn coal stocks may last only two weeks and urge economy while suspensions could affect additional wages.

Special Post Office Inspector and Marshall visited last week to evaluate a proposed Rural mail route. The inspector said no route would be established until valley roads meet department standards. Postmaster Watters discussed the route but could not recognize existing roads as valid mail routes.
In Duluth Minnesota a one year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Michael Maholleoheh, nearly drowned after falling into a bucket of water. While burial services began, the coffin showed moisture and the child revived with stimulants.

The largest mortgage ever recorded in Arizona was filed in the County Recorder's office. It covers 50 million dollars, secured by the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe and California Arizona and Santa Fe Railway Companies in favor of the Guaranty Trust Company of New York. The bonds will bear six percent interest and mature March 1, 1962. Recording cost 76.45 dollars.
