Duchesne County Weed Control Committee will open bids March 29 for about 2300 dollars of chemicals to control noxious weeds on farms and ranches. Lloyd Smith, agricultural agent, secretary of the committee, receives bids and provides the chemical list from his office.
Duchesne Health Center holds its annual meeting March 24 at 8 p.m. in the courthouse. March 24 Wool Growers meet. March 25 Water Users Meeting at 1 p.m. in the courtroom. Debutantes travel to Idaho Falls March 25 for the Western States Marching Tournament. March 26 Gold and Green Ball at Altamont Church. March 26 American Legion Hall hosts 47th Birthday Anniversary Party at 7:30 p.m. March 28 Fish and Game Club election meeting at the courthouse 8 p.m. April 1 Region Six Band Concert Festival at Duchesne High School with morning and evening performances.
Lynn Poulson, a Duchesne High School junior and science club president, was chosen as the school's delegate to the fourth annual Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. The event gathered 49 science and humanities specialists, 171 students, and 35 teachers from five western states for sessions at Camp Williams and the University of Utah.
Dun & Bradstreet data show 125 retailers wholesalers and manufacturers in Duchesne County for 1966, up from 118 a year earlier. District manager John J. McIntyre says financial statement requests were mailed to local businesses.
