Bennett Josie to Attend Sports Education Clinic

Coach Josie Bennett of Duchesne High School is among 13 Utah coaches chosen for a four state regional Lifetime Sports Education Project Clinic in Albuquerque New Mexico April 5 7. Utah Colorado New Mexico and Arizona attendees will have travel funded. Bill Noonan will lead with other national leaders to train large group instruction in golf tennis and bowling. Josie plans to help run up to seven regional Utah workshops this year.

I G A Opens New Bakery Friday and Saturday

Gerald Wilkerson, manager of the I G A Store in Duchesne, announces a new bakery opening with extra special weekend items. The Duchesne Unit No 22 American Legion Auxiliary promotes Dial soap drive to aid a Vietnam serviceman, and all members are urged to donate a bar at a dinner birthday party. The Duchesne Stake Gold and Green Ball occurs March 26 at 8 30 p m in the Mont Chapel Recreation Hall with the theme In an Old Dutch Garden.

Wool Growers Assn to Meet Today in Duchesne County

The Duchesne County Wool Growers Assn prepares an organizational meeting for a lamb and wool pool. In the County Courthouse Commission Board Room at 8 p.m. Phillip Moon, president, convenes with public invitation. Over 200 farmers and ranchers are eligible to sign arrangements lasting one year. Russell Keetch of Utah State University will attend.

Duchesne Motor Co Buys New Holmes Wrecker

The Duchesne Motor Co. added a new Holmes Wrecker on a two ton Chevrolet, purchased in Colorado Springs and now in service. Extra features set this wrecker apart and the public is invited to inspect it at the Duchesne facility.

Duchesne hosts a Utah Civic Ballet program at the Duchesne High School gym with six University of Utah dancers. A public meeting led by A Hale Holgate at the courthouse covers Duchesne County Water Users Assn business and officer elections. Duchesne basketball ends season after a 63-49 loss to Wasatch. Ray Jensen leads Eagles with 16 points.

Farewell Testimonial for Elder Dennis Freeman

A Sunday farewell testimonial will be held March 27 at 12 30 p.m. in the Duchesne Second Ward Chapel for Elder Dennis Ray Freeman prior to his departure for the Northwestern States Mission. He enters the mission home April 11 after graduating Duchesne High School as valedictorian.

Debutantes to Leave for Idaho Falls

The Duchesne Debutantes depart Friday March 25 at 9 p.m. for the Idaho Falls marching tournament with 29 girls and ten parents. Mr. Rogers attends in place of his wife, they stay at Hotel Idaho Falls, and a parade and judging events follow Saturday.
