Pioneer Lady Matilda Davis Dies in Duchesne
Matilda A Robison Davis, 75, of Duchesne Utah, died suddenly in Vernal on Friday night March 11 after being taken there for medical aid. She was born in Birmingham England and came to Utah at age 11. She married Allen Davis in 1867 and lived in Paris Idaho and Vernal before moving to Duchesne. She leaves four daughters and nine sons, with surviving children Albert Frank and Guy Davis of Duchesne, Mrs. Matilda Atwood of Hanna, and Mrs. Florence Kelly of Vernal. The family funeral and burial were held in Vernal Monday with a large gathering.
