Death notice of Fred J. Davis at Salt Lake Hospital

Fred J. Davis died in Salt Lake City after a illness and hospitalization. Born January 11 1889 he lived in Vernal and Duchesne area, married Mary Shelton in 1901 and left a widow nine children and several siblings. Funeral services were held at Ward Hall with a large turnout.

Duchesne County Feeder Day Highlights Stockman Activities

The first Annual Feeders Day for Duchesne County was held at Roodevelt with stockmen from the Basin gathering at the Horace Allred farm. Demonstrations covered feeding, silage, high quality sires, and wintering cattle. A 4-H calf was shown, and speakers MacFarlane Bennion and Maynard spoke on fattening, cooperative marketing, and feeding practices. The event ended with a banquet at Rambler Cafe and brand inspection discussions.

Vernal to Jensen Highway Survey Complete

K C Wright and J W Young along with I A Gillis announced completion of the Vernal to Jensen federal highway survey. The reduced Vernal Jensen distance to 13 miles shortens the route by two miles and construction is funded from the Cotton Chidie fund with operation planned soon from Jensen east toward the Colorado line.

Semi annual Conference Held in Salt Lake City

The church plans its semi annual quarterly conference in Salt Lake City with sessions on April 4 5 and 6. Sunday School at 4 30 pm. There will be no Priesthood meeting on April 5. He urges posting each sheep lost to this disease and warns of parasites in pastured cattle. He also cites foster in Basin livestock and goiter as manageable with timely detection and iodized stock salt mixed with steam bone meal fed to cows and sows weekly.
