Woman Fights Rattlesnake Duel On Two Fronts
In Dothan two mothers recount backyard encounters with rattlesnakes. Martha Gayle Robinson, three, used her brother's belt to stun and defeat an 18 inch snake in a yard duel, declaring fear of big snakes yet not of small ones. Mary Ann Lane, ten, captured a snake in her driveway with a head lock, throwing it down after a brief struggle as the serpent slipped away toward the timber. The incidents fuel jokes that hunting trips now require wives or daughters for protection.
