Burkett Vann a 27 year old Dothan artillery dealer shot himself in the left chest with a 32 calibre pistol at a local hotel Monday afternoon. He is reported on the road to recovery with hospital attaches noting marked improvement and growing strength. He left a note on the hotel dressing table but tore it up when taken to the hospital and refused to discuss motives or the note. Relatives say he had been in good health and was married with several years in the region.
