Fred McGill white male started a 60 day county court sentence for stealing a cheap pair of shoes. He left for Kilby yesterday, with a transfer truck from Kilby arriving after noon from Geneva county where several prisoners were picked up.

Damage suit seeks $109000 in fatal auto crash case

Mrs. B G Farmer sues J T Clark for damages after her husband died when the car he rode in overturned. Clark, a chauffeur, employed at the time, faces circuit court today. A separate action by George Faulk against Solomon Liddon Co. ended in a mistrial for injuries from a company auto.

Escaped Angola Convicts Recaptured Near Marksville

States vote to repeal prohibition across Maryland Minnesota Colorado

Maryland joined the nationwide repeal push with 167 708 to 26 775 in 1 057 of 1 379 precincts and Baltimore counted 119 019 to 11 295. Minnesota's statewide tally showed 102 485 for repeal to 54 068 against with rural strength noted. First Fox Hunters Trials Set for October

Selma Sept 13 The first annual trials of the Alabe State Fox Hunters Association will be run at Tilden near here on Oct 17 14 and 19. Only one stake the allage will be run with dogs started at dawn on all three days. Four silver loving cups will be awarded to winners. A master of hounds and trial judges will be chosen by Rep. Industrial strife hit Pennsylvania New York and New Jersey with coal miners quitting in southwestern Pennsylvania to protest clergy signing the NRA code. Jeffries Reported Leaving Atlanta With Parole Today

The Department of Justice announced W. B. Jeffries convicted in Houston County Alabama of forgery has completed his minimum sentence and is on parole. He was sentenced to thirteen months in the Federal Prison at Atlanta starting November 1 last year with time off for good behavior. his full term would have expired November 1.
