Enfinger Infant Dies At Hospital

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Enfinger of 308 North Appletree Dothan died yesterday in a focal hospital. Funeral services were held this morning at Johnson Funeral Home chapel with Rev. A B Abinden officiating. Burial was in Clark cemetery. Survivors include the parents and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Eaton and Rev. and Mrs. H. M. Givens.

Eight Men Enlisted By Navy Recruiters

Eight men, including three veterans, enlisted in the Navy at the local recruiting office yesterday. Named were James D. Newberry and Denver A. Gibbons of Donalsonville, Ga, John F. Duval of Elba, Roy C. Moore, Quincy T. Barfield of Iron City, G3., William C. Jackson, Thomas P. Johnson of Ariton, and M. B. Parker of Ashford.

State Milk Shortage Expected This Fall

Montgomery AP James F Stoner chairman of the State Milk Control Board warned a growing milk shortage could be worse this fall than any prior in the state. He cited a seasonal production slump and rising consumer demand plus wartime disruptions now catching up, with shortages felt across the state.

Navy opens applications for air crew training to men ages 17 to 26 who meet mental and physical qualifications. Local recruiters said recruits will attend a fundamental aviation school after training, then specialize in aviation radio mechanics or ordnance at advanced schools.

Road bond plan faces county opposition in Senate debate

Inland excursion boat scales to 246 feet length

A damaged riverfront scene on Water Street shows windows in buildings and along the Wharf shattered as a large steel glass enclosed ship, the largest inland excursion craft, was struck and enveloped in the Thames area. The vessel measures 246 feet by 51 feet and can carry about 4,000 passengers.

Funeral Service Held For Macko Infant

Funeral services were held in Beulah Baptist church for the infant son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Michael Macko of N Field. The Rev Stack officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery with John Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
