Secretary Fred Thomas announces Nutland Patch son of Dan Patch will be paraded downtown tomorrow afternoon at four at the Main and St Andrews intersection. A large crowd is expected to view the young pacer with a 2.44 ta record.
The Atlantic Compress Company reports a September 1 start in 115 with 2.4 bales compressed and 1 099 on hand, vs last year 175 bales and 995 on hand. Cotton price is fair, farmers selling, some holding out for higher prices.
Bryan of Jackson County plans extensive displays of agricultural products and poultry at the Christmas plantation fair in Dothan. He is cited as one of the two prominent Progressive farmers in the area.
A pile of dross near a turpentine still in the eastern city section caught fire early this morning at 4 10. The blaze prompted a smoke and alarm as the fire whistle sounded, drawing sleepy residents to the scene.

Will Dawkins and Dredo B Long, noted horsemen from Theville, were Dothan visitors at the Fair Grounds today. Mr Jennings of Marian, whose horses are being trained, was also present as horses were exercised around the track. Peeier Cushing drove the horse wall and led gearhand. Local bores and others interested joined the group at the grounds this morning.
