The Rev Will T Miller a farmer and preacher was held without bail in Elba Ala on a charge of killing Albert Carroll son of a tenant. The shooting followed a peanut field dispute and a prior damaged suit over mistreatment. Albert died two hours later. Lewie Carroll was wounded. Funeral was held at Goodman.

Defendatn Awarded Verdict in 5000 Damages Suit
A circuit court jury returned a verdict for the defendant in the case of Mrs. G. J. Harvard vs E. S. Hightower for 5000 damages from injuries alleged after an automobile collision with an employee of Hightower. The accident occurred January 21, 1932. The Harvard car was driven by her son Leon Harvard. Insurance officials said Hightower's car was insured and it was the first time in some time no judgment was awarded against the insurer.
