Proceedings to oust deputy tax assessors in Houston County near completion as E G Collins, Hewston county tax assessor, claims five years of escaped assessments. Attorneys for Collins signed completion of papers in circuit court. Collins said he contemplated quo warranto action, deputies moved their equipment from his office and had not returned, with assessors having worked since last June and filed numerous assessments.

Surveyor to map Dothan to Cottonwood road route

A surveyor is to arrive today to map the route from Dothan to Grangerburg through Cottonwood. The survey will start under Houston county highway superintendent C. McEachin with R F C labor to clear the proposed right of way as plans call for state aid for the road.
