Rockne Ordered to Bed for Two Weeks at Notre Dame

Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne, battling a leg infection, will rest at least two weeks and will not travel for the Georgia Tech game in Atlanta or the Drake contest in Chicago. He stresses the team can still win upcoming hard schedule including Southern California and Northwestern, while stating no loss to the squad is anticipated this season unless his health worsens.

Woman Held in Birmingham on Murder Charge

In Birmingham Alabama on October 30 a first degree murder charge was filed against Maude Cooley 36 whose husband David Cooley 48 was shot to death at their home the coroner ordered her transferred to the county jail Daugette from Ensley who said he was present at the time of the shooting was released after questioning and Mrs Cooley admitted knowledge of his presence in the home.

Miss Anne Beddow Elected President of Nurses Association

Miss Anne Beddow was elected president of the Southern division of the American Nurses Association at the Birmingham conference. The board will include the president and two members from each of the 12 states. Speakers emphasized public health expansion and social disease control.
