J R Young A Longtime Dothan Mayor And Local Leader
J R Young served as mayor of Dothan in 1896 7 1904 5 and 1906 7 totaling many years of city leadership. He began as an extra policeman in 1888 moved into the drug business in 1892 and later chaired the dispensary commission. He also sits as vice president of the Houston National Bank and holds other local interests. He was born August 18 1866 and remains a prominent civic figure after nineteen years of official service.
