Fire destroys Columbia home with total loss
The Williams home in Columbia burned in the first week and could not be extinguished before the house was demolished. Furniture was a total loss. No one was home then as the Williams were visiting their daughter Mrs Jack Olck of the White Plains School near Anniston. Their sons Bob Lewis and Ed had gone to Donalsonville, Georgia. The fire’s cause and extent prompted an insurance claim, with Mrs RH Pierce entertaining the Balmagundt club and numerous neighbors offering support.
