British Rum Craft Taken After Chase

A 125 foot British motor vessel Wichone was captured off Fire Island after a brief chase in which blank warning shots were fired. Coast guard says the craft supplied rum running outside the 12 mile limit. $70,000 worth of Scotch whisky malt aboard. Captain Chesley Anderson and 10 crewmen were taken to Brooklyn for federal court arraignment. The vessel valued at $50,000 had often been seen outside the 12 mile limit.
