Wiregrass Peanut Butter Sends to Schools Nationwide
The Sessions Company, based in Enterprise, Alabama, will supply Uncle Sam with 25 to 30 carloads of peanut butter for school cafeterias this year under a federal contract. Deliveries begin this month and run through December, with cans weighing six and three-quarter pounds and about 30,000 pounds shipped weekly from the Enterprise plant. The contract, valued around 325000 dollars, sources peanuts largely from the Alabama Wiregrass and portions from Southwest Georgia, with a government inspector monitoring quality.
