The first cooperative pecan sale for Marianne and Jackson counties at the State Farmers' Market is set for October 24 at 3 PM with J. W. Malone as information contact. Sales will continue around December 5. Last year the market sold 98,080 pounds across all varieties, and officials expect strong results this season.
The OPA district office in Montgomery released maximum egg prices for four state groups covering Southeast Alstoria Countess of Harbour Coffee Geneve denry and Houston. The price bands set per dozen ranged by egg size from 65 to 68 cents for large eggs and lower figures for medium and small eggs, with a 2 cent per dozen surcharge allowed where eggs are sold in dozens.
