Hugh Grant appeals to Truman to stop Nazi executions
Hugh G. Grant, former U. S. minister to Albania and Siam, urged President Truman to halt the scheduled hangings of Nazi leaders to be executed at Nuremberg. He warned the move would backfire and argued war-time leaders should not be punished where laws did not exist then. Grant compared past leaders with Roosevelt and Churchill and pressed for a world body with enforceable laws before such punishments.
