Funeral services for FW McElroy aged 72 of 1112 Reeves St were held at Liberty Church with Rev A D Zichinden officiating after a long illness. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was a member of Headland Avenue Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were Bryan Lane Helms Hilson Bunton and Tolar. Honorary pallbearers included B Kirkland A H Powers Nex Helms and the Mens Bible Class of Headland Avenue Baptist Church
Telegram from the War Department informs Mrs. Mikle P. Gilmer of Dothan that Private First Class John H. Gilmer was seriously wounded in action in France on 14 September.
