Dreamboat's Polar Flight Surprises With Closer Pole Distance

The Dreamboat, flying over Pacific Arctic and Atlantic routes, found number 138 about 200 miles nearer the North Pole than believed. Its magnetic compass swung toward the geographical pole rather than south. The flight crossed three oceans and three continents, reporting from Prince of Wales Island within the Arctic Circle. It beat its predicted 41 hours but failed to reclaim the non-stop record from the Truculent Turtle, which flew 11 250 miles from Perth to Columbus. Pacusan stands for Pacific Air Command US Army with an added N for euphony.
