New Baptist Church At Newton Aided By Hayley Gift
A new $15,000 Newton Baptist church building rises on the old site, funded in part by the late Mrs. Mittie K. Hayley’s will. Pastor Rev. Joseph Avery leads 160 members as construction progresses toward a Dec 17 completion and Dec 25 dedication. The brick semi classic structure seats about 235 in the main hall and 58 in the balcony, with a two story Sunday school area and modern heat, plumbing, and electrical systems.
