Funeral today for former Ashford policeman William Buntin
The 51 year old William R. Buntin died last Friday at Woodman Sanitarium Colorado. Funeral services were held at Ashford Methodist Church at 3 30 p m with Rev C Bates and Paul B Dansiey officiating Fellows and Forrester arranged. He formerly lived at Radford where he was chief of police for 20 years Survived by widow two sons Lynwood and Shelby parents Dose and Buntin of Cottonwood a brother Omer Buntis of Cottonwood eight sisters Alen Clark Graceville H G Kirkland Columbus Annie Jones Frank Jones Ruey Lee Carrie Buntin Cottonwood A Granger Birmingham and Dick Skip per Dothan. The mayor and councilmen of Ashford served as pallbearers.

In NeuDeuk Germany October 3 AP reports President Paul von Hindenburg marked his eighty sixth birthday with visits from estate workers, school children, and local dignitaries. Chancellor Adolf Hitler arrived from Berlin at the chief executive’s estate amid a guard of honor and general acclaim. The official communique says the visit has no political significance though it signals a warm bond between the former field marshal and the Nazi leader.

Hodges Urges Truth On Alabama School Plight
P W Hodges of the State Department of Education told 17 teachers at the Houston County Teachers Institute that Alabama schools receive only about half of legislative allocations due to reduced revenue.
