Negro shot by policeman during Sunday burglary
A Sunday morning incident left Ben Sessions, a 2 year old black resident, wounded by Officer Chayton Burdeshaw after Sessions allegedly burglarized the Robert F. Shirley store near the Moorelce plant. Herring ordered surrender as Sessions attacked with a crowbar. a 38 caliber revolver fired, bullets entering his left side. Police report Sessions may be involved in a later freight car break in for 30 orange wool blankets numbered 461 bound for Enterprise.
